Description
Flucold Syp 60ml is commonly prescribed in children to treat common cold symptoms like sore throat, runny nose, cough, sneezing, watery eyes, body ache, and fever. Flucold Syp may be prescribed alone or in combination with another medicine. Flucold Syp is an antiallergic medication. When your body is exposed to an allergen (pollen, animal dander, house dust etc.), it produces a chemical called histamine. This causes watery eyes, runny or blocked nose, sneezing, skin rashes, itching etc. Flucold Syp works by blocking the action of histamine, thereby relieving these symptoms. Paracetamol an analgesic (pain reliever) and anti-pyretic (fever reducer). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and fever. Phenylephrine is a decongestant. It works by narrowing the small blood vessels which provides temporary relief from inflammation (redness and swelling) and discomfort.

What happens if I miss a dose?
Answer- Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, wait until then to take Flucold Syp and skip the missed dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
2 . Does Flucold Syp cause drowsiness?
Answer- Flucold Syp is known to cause drowsiness and sleepiness. Hence, you are recommended to take it in the nighttime if you are experiencing excessive drowsiness in the day and avoid driving a car or do anything that require mental alertness.
3. Will a higher than recommended dose of Flucold Syrup 60 ml be more effective?
Answer- It is not recommended to take a higher than the recommended dose as it may lead to unpleasant side effects and toxicity. If you feel the severity of your symptoms is increasing, please consult your doctor.
4. Is it safe to breastfeed while taking Flucold Syrup 60 ml?
Answer- It is not advisable to breastfeed while taking Flucold Syrup 60 ml as it contains Chlorpheniramine (an antihistamine), which is known to pass through the breast milk and may harm the baby. So, please consult the doctor before breastfeeding if you are taking Flucold Syrup 60 ml.
