Description

Glimet-DS 10 Tablet belongs to a category of medicines known as anti-diabetic drugs. It is a combination of two medicines used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It helps control blood sugar levels in people with diabetes. Diabetes occurs when the insulin (a hormone produced by the beta cells of the pancreas) is resistant in breaking the glucose to produce energy (insulin resistance) or the pancreas produces little or no insulin at all. Glimet-DS 10 Tab contains Glipizide and Metformin. Glipizide belongs to the class of sulfonylureas. It is used in the treatment of diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise. Metformin belongs to the class of biguanides and is used to manage blood sugar levels, particularly in obese patients.
