Sarotena tablet is given in the treatment of depression, migraine headache, and neuropathic pain. It belongs to the class of tricyclic antidepressants that works by inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin from the nerve terminals increases its concentration in the cns.

Its antidepressant action enhances and regulates the mood. It also works by blocking certain pain-generating messengers from nerves that help in relieving neuropathic pains.
