Nicardia is a calcium channel blocker that works by inhibiting the influx of extracellular calcium ions across the myocardial and vascular smooth muscle cell membranes. These inhibit calcium and vascular smooth muscle contraction, which occurs during depolarization, reducing the peripheral arterial vascular resistance and dilating coronary arteries. These actions reduce blood pressure and increase the supply of oxygen to the heart, relieving angina.

After opening the seal of each tablet, administer the tablet as soon as possible. It is sensitive to light and may not show its action properly if the pack is left out for too long.
