Norgest tablet is a synthetic progestin that works by inhibiting the secretion of gonadotropins from the pituitary gland and preventing the maturation of follicles and the process of ovulation. Norgest is a synthetic progestin (hormone) used to treat hormone-related conditions such as menopausal symptoms and endometriosis.

With much high potency, it works similar to natural progesterone. It changes the cervical and endometrial function at the pelvic level. It inhibits the pituitary hormones that play a role in follicular maturation and ovulation. Thus, mimicking the effects of natural progesterone helps treat menstrual irregularities by regulating the growth and shedding of the womb lining.

This medication's most common side effects are headache, nausea, abdominal pain, vaginal spotting, dizziness, and breast. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects may bother you. Your doctor may suggest various ways to reduce or prevent side effects. If you develop jaundice, migraine, or changes to your speech or senses (eyesight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch) or if you become pregnant or if your blood pressure becomes too high, quit the medication and consult your doctor.
