Kidpred belongs to the class of glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory and immunomodulating properties. It works by decreasing the formation of chemical substances which are responsible for inflammation and allergy. It is used to treat various conditions such as arthritis, immune system disorders, blood problems, skin & eye diseases, severe allergies, and asthma. It is also a treatment of choice after organ transplantation and for nephrotic syndrome in children.

The dosage and length of the treatment are based upon your medical condition and response to the treatment. Follow the dosing schedule very carefully as prescribed by the doctor. Do not prolong its use more than recommended by the doctor, as it may lead to the risk of side effects. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor. Some conditions may become worsen, and you may experience withdrawal symptoms such as weakness, muscle pain, dizziness, and weight loss. The dose should be decreased gradually according to the condition.

This medicine's most common side effects include weight gain, increased appetite, high blood pressure, insomnia, and heartburn. Many of these side effects may disappear after treatment is stopped. If symptoms persist or become worsen, consult your doctor immediately without any delay.

This medicine may increase blood pressure and blood sugar levels, so the doctor will advise you to regularly check blood pressure and blood sugar levels. Avoid taking alcohol while using this medicine. It may increase the risk of bleeding inside the stomach. Inform your doctor if you are taking any vaccine or intended to be vaccinated.
