A delusion is a false belief that is held with strong conviction even though it is contradicted by evidence or reality. People who are delusional typically have a distorted view of reality. For example, they may believe that they are famous celebrities or that they have supernatural abilities.
Delusions can be very harmful, as they can lead people to make bad decisions or act in ways that are harmful to themselves or others. Delusions are often treated with medication and/or therapy.
