The connection between shoulder pain and mattresses may not be immediately obvious, but there is in fact a direct link between the two. Poor sleeping posture can lead to soreness and muscle pain in the shoulders, particularly when sleeping on an inadequate mattress or surface that doesn't support your body properly throughout the night.

When you sleep on a mattress that is too soft or too hard for your body type, your spine won't have adequate support throughout the night and will settle into a curved position which can cause intense pressure to build up around certain areas of your body such as your shoulders. Additionally, if you're sleeping on an old or worn out mattress too long it can contribute to chronic back pain and stiffness along with severe shoulder tension.

On top of this, individuals who tend to sleep in the fetal position are more likely at risk due to their arms being tucked under their chest which is known for creating abnormal stress around their joints and muscles - specifically in their neck and shoulders - due to added pressure from underneath them.

As such, having a supportive yet comfortable mattress (which works for your body type) will make all of the difference when it comes to reducing shoulder pain related symptoms so be sure research different types available before making any decisions!
