If you have an armpit lump, the best and safest way to permanently remove it without severe side effects is through surgery. The most common type of surgical procedure used to treat armpit lumps is called axillary lymph node dissection, or ALND. During this procedure, a surgeon will make a small incision in your armpit and remove all of the affected lymph nodes in that area.

In many cases, the entire tumor may be removed along with the underlying tissue while still preserving normal surrounding tissues. Once the affected nodes are removed, they will then be examined under a microscope for further examination and diagnosis of what type of tumor it is if any. Depending on the results from this pathology report additional treatments may be recommended if necessary such as chemotherapy or radiation therapy if cancerous cells were found in the sample tissue removal during ALND surgery.

The key thing to remember about removing an armpit lump permanently without side effects is that early detection can greatly improve your chances for successful removal since by catching it sooner you increase your chances for complete tumor removal before it has spread elsewhere within your body beyond its original location. Therefore regular self-examination of any lumps or bumps should be done regularly throughout one’s lifetime as part of preventive health measures one should strive to achieve
