Q. Will LED lighting harm our eyesight?
Doctor Answer is medically reviewed by SecondMedic medical review team.
No, LED lighting will not harm our eyesight. In fact, studies have shown that LEDs are significantly more efficient than other types of light sources and emit very little if any ultraviolet radiation which has been linked to eye damage. Additionally, the intensity of light produced by LEDs is much less than that emitted from traditional incandescent or fluorescent lights and also does not produce as much glare which reduces eye strain. LED lights also use controls such as dimmers to adjust brightness levels so one can be comfortable with their overall lighting environment. Since LED bulbs emit a limited amount of heat compared to other types of bulbs they are considered safer for the eyes. Therefore overall it’s safe to say that LED lighting won't cause harm to your eyes in any way shape or form!
