Doctor Answer is medically reviewed by SecondMedic medical review team.
Yes, bloody discharge can be a sign of cervical cancer. The most common symptom is abnormal vaginal bleeding between menstrual cycles, after sexual intercourse, or after menopause. Other symptoms may include pain during urination and intercourse, unusual vaginal discharge that has a foul odor, and pelvic discomfort or pressure. It's important to note that not all women who experience any of these symptoms have cervical cancer; however if you experience any of the above mentioned signs it is important to speak with your doctor immediately in order to receive further testing. Early detection significantly increases a woman’s chance of successful treatment for cervical cancer so make sure to take charge of your health!
