It is important to understand that hard armpit lumps, containing pus or not, may have a range of causes. While the most common cause of such a lump is probably an infection or skin condition resulting from shaving, there is always a slim chance it could be cancer. Therefore, if you notice a hard armpit lump that contains pus or any other abnormal symptoms in your arm pits, it's best to make an appointment with your doctor right away for further evaluation and treatment.

When evaluating a hard armpit lump containing pus for diagnosis purposes, doctors will take several factors into consideration such as its size and tenderness. A large and painful lump can be indicative of an abscess caused by minor irritation from shaving - this type of infection often contains pus and requires incision draining (I&D) along with antibiotics to treat it properly. Other minor infections like folliculitis can also produce similar looking lumps when infected hairs get blocked by dead skin cells caused by dry shaving leading to inflammation; these lumps are typically red at their center but heal without needing much intervention when treated appropriately with topical medications like antibiotic ointment applied twice daily after showering on freshly shaven areas until all the symptoms vanish.

Conversely, if the bump does not respond well to traditional I&D treatments mentioned before then more serious medical attention should be sought out as soon as possible; this particularly holds true if the mass continues getting bigger over time despite proper care being taken which may indicate cancerous formations growing underneath the surface at hand – Leukemia lymphoma specifically affects lymph nodes inside arms so any suspicious bumps should promptly consulted about medically in order avoid delayed diagnosis.  Additionally chest X-rays plus blood tests might also used by doctors rule out anything serious such TB disease which could also manifest itself through painful yet small swelling around underarm area due excessive sweating leading high levels bacteria growth near affected region thus causing inflammation/reaction that might look exactly same way as razor burn issue described above would appear too early detection life saving measures!
