An astute Laboratory Medicine professional with three decades of broad-ranging expertise in the profession, academics, research, administration, and laboratory & business operations. Extensive experience in conventional as well as cutting edge techniques in laboratory sciences with a special interest in Oncopathology, Neuropathology, Dermatopathology & Cytopathology. Special interest in developing Digital Pathology and Artificial Intelligence in Diagnostics. Graduate & postgraduate from Armed Forces Medical College, Pune; followed by Post Doc Fellowship in Neuropathology from AIIMS, New Delhi & Molecular Neuropathology at University of Heidelberg, Germany. Worked in leading Armed Forces tertiary care medical institutes (Armed Forces Medical College, Pune & Army Hospital R&R, Delhi) for three decades till 2018. From 2018-Nov 2020, led SRL Diagnostics as Director Lab Operations & Chief Histopathologist at Reference Lab, Mumbai, followed by Director, Centre of Excellence, Histopathology. Set up Digital Pathology and developed an AI algorithm, with Microsoft, for LBC Cytology. Currently leading NM Medical as Chief Operating Officer & Chief Histopathologist, to develop next-generation Histopathology & Digital Pathology.
