Description-

Switglim-MP 2/15 Tablet  is an anti-diabetic drugs used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes, especially in patients whose blood sugar levels are not controlled by diet and exercise alone. Switglim MP 2 Tablet is a combination of three antidiabetic medicines: Glimepiride, Metformin and Pioglitazone. They work by different mechanisms to provide better control of blood sugar. Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea which works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas in order to lower the blood glucose. Metformin is a biguanide which works by lowering glucose production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption from intestines and increasing the body sensitivity to insulin. Pioglitazone is a thiazolidinedione which further increases insulin sensitivity.

Directions for use

•  It should be taken as directed by your doctor and in the prescribed quantity.

•  Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water. Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.

•  It would be best if you take it at a fixed time with food for optimal results.

•  Keep it away from the reach of children

•  Do not use expired medicine.

•  Tell the doctor about the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid possible interaction.
•  It may cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol or if you delay or miss a meal.

•  Always carry some sugary food or fruit juice with you in case you experience hypoglycemic symptoms such as cold sweats, cool pale skin, tremor, and anxiety.

•  Your doctor may check your liver function regularly. Inform your doctor if you develop symptoms such as abdominal pain, loss of appetite, or yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice).

•  Maintain a low fat and a low sugar diet. Do regular exercises to maintain the weight.

•  Consult with the physician during pregnancy & lactation.
