INSUGEN N 40IU 10ML contains human insulin, used to improve blood sugar control inVadults and children with type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus. It maintains blood sugar
levels in both adults and children. In Diabetes Mellitus Type 1, the body does not make enough insulin to control blood sugar levels. In Diabetes Mellitus type 2, either the body stops producing enough insulin (the hormone which helps to decrease sugar levels in the blood) or there is resistance to the action of insulin. As a result, insulin is produced
in large amounts but it is not able to act on the organs of the body. Insugen-N 40IU/ml Injection is intermediate-acting insulin, that starts working in 1-2 hours after injection. It works similar to the insulin that is produced by the body. Insulin facilitates reuptake of sugar in muscle and fat cells and also suppresses the production of sugar in the liver. This helps to lower the blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus.

Directions for use

•  It should be taken as directed by your doctor and in the prescribed quantity.
•  It is always administered subcutaneously.
•  If you are not properly trained let your Doctor or healthcare person administer it
•  It would be best if you take it at a fixed time for optimal results.
•  Keep it away from the reach of children
•  Do not use expired medicine.
•  For administration you should wash your hand first before injecting insulin.
•  Then roll the insulin bottle and wipe the bottle top. Now pull the plunger of the syringe down to an appropriate number of units your doctor has prescribed.
•  Push the needle into the bottle and push syringe plunger down. Now once again pull the plunger down to an appropriate number of units as prescribed by the doctor.
•  Pick the injection site and wipe it with an alcohol swab. Now, pinch up the skin and push the needle into the skin and then push the plunger in.
•  The needle should be kept under the skin for at least 6 seconds to make sure the entire dose is injected.
•  After injecting the insulin pull out the needle and dispose of the syringe safely. And then you can have a meal or snack.

Safety Information

•  Tell the doctor about the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid possible interaction.
•  Injection below the skin of the abdomen results in faster absorption than other injection sites. After injection, the site of injection should not be massaged.
•  Injection sites must be rotated to prevent hard lumps from developing at one site.
•  Change to another type or brand of insulin should be done under strict medical supervision as it may require a change in dosage.
•  Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) may occur when taken along with other anti diabetic medicines, alcohol or on delaying/skipping a meal. Carry a sugar source with you for immediate relief.
•  Do not share your insulin device with other people, even if the needle has been changed.
