Description

Dexoren-SP E/Drops is a combination of three medicines. It is used in treating bacterial infections of the eyes. It kills the bacteria that cause infection. It also relieves pain, itching, discomfort, and irritation. Dexoren-Sp E/Drops 5gm contains Polymyxin B, dexamethasone, and chloramphenicol. Polymyxin B is bactericidal, which kills the bacterial cell by preventing bacterial cell wall formation essential for their survival. Chloramphenicol is bacteriostatic, which prevents bacteria's growth by inhibiting the production of essential proteins necessary for bacteria to grow, multiply, and increase in numbers. Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and symptoms associated with infection such as redness and irritation by inhibiting the natural substance like prostaglandins that cause inflammation. Thus it prevents the spread of redness, allergies, inflammation, and bacterial infection in the eyes.

Directions for use

•  It should be used as directed by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use.
•  Keep it away from the reach of children
•  Do not use expired medicine.
•  For external use only
•  Wash your hand before applying it. Hold the dropper close to the eye/ear without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lowereyelid or ear. Wipe off extra liquid.

 Safety Information

•  Tell the doctor about the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid possible interaction.
•  If you have missed any dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule.
•  Do not use Dexoren-SP E/Drops for more than the prescribed duration as it may cause glaucoma or secondary infection. 
•  Do not touch the tip to any surface, or to your eye, to avoid contamination.
•  Do not wear contact lenses until your infection clears up.
•  Throw away any medicine left at the end of the 5 day course.
•  Please consult an eye specialist if your eye infection persists or worsens after a week
•  If you have irritation in the eyes, avoid rubbing them
