Gemfos tablet is used to treat cancer and osteoporosis; it works by suppressing osteoclasts cells' activity that destroys bone, thereby strengthening the bones and minimizing the risk of fractures.
You are advised to take a gemfos tablet as prescribed by your doctor. This medication has to be taken regularly at evenly spaced intervals as per the schedule prescribed by your doctor.
Gemfos tablet takes several days to show beneficial effects, hence do not stop this gemfos tablet unless advised by your doctor.
Caution must be followed when you are consuming alcohol with a gemfos tablet. Please consult your doctor.
This medication's most common side effects are headache, musculoskeletal (bone, muscle, or joint) pain, heartburn, diarrhoea, and indigestion. Inform your doctor if you experience the above effects. They will suggest an alternative to reduce the symptoms.
Gemfos tablets may cause kidney problems, low calcium levels in blood and pain in the mouth or jaw. Your doctor may advise frequent medical tests to check your kidney function and mineral levels. Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to use any other medicines. Gemfos tablet is not recommended in pregnancy.
