Cintapro tablets are a prescription drug that belongs to a class of compounds called prokinetic agonists of the serotonin (5-ht4) receptor. It is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (acid reflux) and indigestion.
Cintapro tablets reduce the amount of acid your stomach produces and relieve pain associated with heartburn and acid reflux. These tablets indirectly stimulate the release of chemical messengers that increase intestinal motility. You must take it exactly as prescribed for it to be effective.
The most common side effects are headaches and nausea. Most of them are temporary and usually resolved over time. Call your doctor right away if you are concerned about any of these side effects. This medicine can cause diarrhoea, so it is better to drink plenty of fluids while taking this medicine to help prevent dehydration.
Before taking it, you should tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease so that your doctor can prescribe the appropriate dose. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor.
