Hematuria comes in two main types: microscopic and macroscopic.
1. Microscopic Hematuria:
- This type is not visible to the naked eye. It's detected only under a microscope during a urine test. Even though blood is present, the urine may appear normal.
2. Macroscopic Hematuria:
- Also known as gross or visible hematuria, this type involves blood that is noticeable in the urine. It can change the color of urine, making it pink, red, or brown. This type is typically more easily recognized by the person experiencing it.
