Peeling skin below the finger nails is a common issue that can have several causes. One of the most frequent issues is an infection such as candida, yeast or bacterial. This type of infection can occur when your hands are exposed to too much moisture, either from sweating or wet conditions, and then not properly dried off afterwards. It could also be caused by irritation due to constant contact with detergents, soaps and chemicals commonly used in household cleaning products.

Another possible cause of peeling skin under your fingernails is an allergic reaction to something on the surface of the nail plate such as nail polish or adhesives used in acrylic nails. In this case you should discontinue using any product that may be causing it and observe if this stops the problem from reoccurring.

You may also occasionally experience peeling skin because your nails are too dry – usually caused by exposure to cold temperatures during winter months without wearing gloves – which can make them brittle and fragile resulting in damage including peeling fingers skins underneath them. To prevent this kind of issue you should use hand cream regularly to restore natural oils on your hands and keep them well moisturized during colder months, avoiding long exposures without protecting yourself with gloves when going outside for extended periods of time .

If you notice any yellowish discoloration around your fingernail beds please seek medical attention since this might indicate more serious infections like psoriasis or eczema which require professional diagnosis and treatment
