The short answer is, yes you could be rejected in NDA medicals if you have a fungal nail infection. However, the chance of this happening depends on several factors.
Firstly, if your fungal nail infection has been effectively treated and it is no longer active or contagious, then it should not impact your eligibility for admission into the NDA. However, if the infection is still active and/or presents an ongoing health hazard that could potentially spread to other personnel or equipment within the military facility, then you may be considered ineligible for admission.
Furthermore, any infectious diseases such as a fungal nail condition can prevent entry into military service until recovered from or cured successfully due to concerns about infecting not only other members of the Armed Forces but also damaging expensive gear and equipment. This fact alone makes it difficult to predict whether somebody with a fungal nail condition will pass their NDA medical evaluation as each person’s situation must be looked at on a case-by-case basis.
Therefore, if you are considering applying for an NDA position with a current fungal nail infection then we recommend seeking advice from your healthcare provider prior to submitting your application in order to ensure that all necessary steps have been taken in order to obtain approval during medical screening procedures.
