The answer to this question is not a straightforward one. Generally speaking, it depends on the size and type of brain tumor, as well as the stage at which it is discovered and treated. For instance, if a cancerous tumor has spread to other parts of the body before being detected and treated, then the prognosis will be less favorable than if the tumor had been caught at an earlier stage.

That said, depending on factors such as these that can vary greatly from person to person, some estimates suggest that people with brain tumors may live anywhere between two weeks to several years beyond their diagnoses. It is important however to note that quality of life during this period will also likely be impacted by symptoms associated with having a brain tumor – such as headaches or seizures - meaning in many cases the time frame for survival can be far shorter.

Finally, researchers have identified numerous risk factors for developing aggressive forms of brain tumors which raises mortality rates significantly - including exposure to certain chemicals in workplace settings or radiation treatments administered for benign diseases such as acne or tonsillitis before age 30.  To learn more about how long you might expect someone diagnosed with a brain tumor would survive read here: [Link].
