Zefu syrup is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, lungs, skin, soft tissues, bones, joints, and urinary tract in children. It is also given to prevent infection in an animal, human bite, wounds and may also give before surgical procedures as a preventing therapy. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering, which is essential for the survival of the bacteria.
This medication dose will be given based on your child's medical condition as prescribed by the doctor. Give this oral syrup to your child with food. Before giving this syrup, dissolve the powder in sterile water and check the label for directions. Shake it well and use it. Medication must not be stopped unless told by your doctor. After taking this medication, if your child vomits after 30 min of intake, give the same dose again but do not double dose if it is already time for the next dose. Do not skip the dose and complete the full course, even if your child feels better.
The most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, and allergy. If the symptoms persist or worsen, you need to consult your doctor immediately. Your doctor may help you with other ways to reduce or prevent these side effects. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water while taking this medication to prevent diarrhoea.
Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if your child has liver & kidney problems or any other health issues and using any other medication.
