Trancodol is used in the treatment of schizophrenia, mania, behavioural problems, anxiety. Trancodol blocks the action of a chemical substance in the brain, which affects a patient’s thoughts and mood. Take medicine exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Do not miss the dose even if you feel better. You can take medicine with or without food, but it is recommended to take medicine simultaneously each day. Avoid consuming alcohol while taking this medicine.

Avoid the use of allergy medication, cough medication, and sleep-inducing medications. The most common side effects of trancodol are restlessness, uncontrolled movements of arms, legs, tongue, cheeks, jaw, and mouth, muscle stiffness, sedation, weight gain. If the side effects persist or worsen, inform the doctor immediately. Moderate exercises need to be done as trancodol may lead to weight gain. Trancodol should not be given to patients with dementia-related psychosis.

Trancodol must be given with caution in patients with liver disease. Seek a doctor’s advice before taking this medication. Your doctor may advise some blood tests like blood counts, blood sugar levels while taking this medicine.

Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant, have liver & kidney problems, and use any other medications. This medication is not recommended in severe liver disease patients.
