Thaloda is used to treat multiple myeloma, lepra reaction, mouth ulcers, behcet’s syndrome, wasting syndrome associated with aids. Thaloda can be given alone or in combination with other medicines. It works by suppressing factors responsible for the migration of wbcs and inhibits blood flow to the cancer cells, leading to cancer cells death.
Take medicine exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Do not miss the dose even if you feel better. The medicine should be taken at night at least one hour after food. You must follow caution as excess consumption may lead to serious adverse effects.
The most common side effects of thaloda include fatigue, decreased calcium levels, oedema, constipation, neuropathy, shortness of breath, muscle weakness, decreased wbc count, rashes, confusion, loss of appetite, nausea. If the side effects persist or worsen, then inform the doctor immediately.
Thaloda is contraindicated in pregnancy as it may harm the foetus causing phocomelia (sealed limbs). Your doctor may advise specific tests on kidney functioning, liver functioning, blood count, ecg before and after the treatment. Inform your doctor before taking this medication if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant or breastfeeding, suffering from kidney or liver disorders, taking any other medications.
