STARPRESS H XL tablets are used to treat hypertension. it is a combination of two medicines as hydrochlorothiazide and metoprolol succinate. metoprolol succinate is a beta-blocker that works specifically on the heart to lower heart rate and improve heart efficiency in pumping blood throughout the body. hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that lowers blood pressure by flushing the body of excess water and electrolytes. it also relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow over time.

this tablets are used alone or in combination with other medications. you are advised to take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. you must follow caution as excess consumption leads to serious adverse effects. medication must not be stopped unless told by your doctor. alcohol consumption needs to be avoided while on this medication as it may lead to dizziness and drowsiness.

this medication's most common side effects are bradycardia, cold extremities, constipation, depression, diarrhoea, dizziness, dyspepsia, dyspnea, fatigue, headache, heart failure, hypokalemia, hypotension, nausea, pruritus, wheezing, anorexia, epigastric distress, phototoxicity, and bronchospasm.
