Sp-citral is a urinary alkaliser. It works by increasing the ph of urine, which makes it less acidic. Sp-citral syrup is used alone or in combination with other medications. Take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Do not be stop this medication unless told by your doctor. Alcohol consumption needs to be avoided while on this medication.
The most common side effect of this medication is stomach pain. It may also cause diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, frequent urge to urinate, and tiredness. Inform your doctor if these side effects persist for a longer time and do not subside.
Inform your doctor if you have high levels of potassium, low blood calcium levels, high blood pressure, oedema, increased alkalinity in the blood, urinary tract infection, or kidney dysfunction.
