Propynate cream is a corticosteroid. It works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Use it in the dose and duration as directed by your doctor. Should not use it too frequently and more than your doctor has prescribed. Avoid covering the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages, as it may increase the risk of side effects. Consult your doctor before taking alcohol while on this medicine.
The common side effects of this medication are burning, irritation, itching, redness at the application site. These are temporary and improve with time.
