If this medicine isn't taken according to the prescribed way, this may result in serious side effects. It usually takes several weeks or months for seeing the effects of this medicine. Avoid consuming alcohol while taking this medicine. The most common side effects include fatigue, fever, bone pain, muscle cramp, and diarrhoea. This medication may reduce the number of blood cells, thereby increasing the susceptibility to infections. Regular blood tests are recommended to monitor blood cells, heart, liver and blood uric acid levels.
