Olmat mt tablets are used in the treatment of high blood pressure and heart failure. Olmesartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (arb). It works by blocking the hormone angiotensin, thus relaxing blood vessels. Metoprolol is a beta-blocker. It works on the heart and reduces the heart rate, thus decreases blood pressure. Hence allows the blood to flow smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently. This medication is used alone or in combination with other medications. Take the dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop this medication even if you feel well. Do regular exercise, eat a healthy diet, and reduce your weight. Medication should not be stopped unless told by your doctor.

The most common side effects of Olmat mt are nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, stomach upset, taste change, weakness, dizziness, headache, cold extremities, the increased potassium level in the blood, slow heart rate, and decreased blood pressure. Avoid taking potassium-rich foods while taking this medication. This medication may cause dizziness, do not drive and get up slowly from the sitting position.

Your doctor may advise monitoring blood pressure, blood sugar levels, kidney functioning, urea, or electrolytes level while taking this medication.

Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or having kidney & liver problems and using any other medications.
