MIDODRIVE belongs to the class of alpha-adrenergic agonist and vasopressor used to treat low blood pressure (hypotension) and in people who feel dizzy due to low blood pressure when they suddenly stand up from a sitting or lying position. it works by activating receptors on blood vessels to constrict and causing blood pressure to rise.
the most common side effects are headache, nausea, rash, and difficulty urinating. inform your doctor if these side effects bother you. it can also cause supine hypertension, which means increases in your blood pressure in the supine position. you must take this medicine during the day when the person is most likely to stay overnight. however, it should not take if you lie down for a long time after taking it. take this medication as prescribed by your doctor.
before using this medication, inform your doctor if you are allergic to any medicine and have kidney disease or liver disease. do not take more than the recommended dose as it may worsen the condition. advise the patient to go for regular monitoring of blood pressure while taking this medication.
