Miconaz belongs to the class of antifungal agents. It is used to treat fungal infections of the skin such as athlete's foot (affecting the toes), hives (affecting the groin area), candidiasis (affecting the mouth, throat, intestines, and vagina), and ringworm (affecting the skin or scalp). Athletes' feet, pruritus, and tapeworms are closely related to fungal infections, whereas candidiasis is a fungal infection caused by candida albicans. This infection usually occurs in people with weakened immune systems. They can be spreads by skin-to-skin contact. It works by inhibiting fungal growth and reduce infections.
The most common side effects are redness, rash, itching or blistering at the application site, taste disturbance (dysgeusia), headache, itching or burning, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea. Tell your doctor if side effects do not go away or get worse within a few days. See a doctor right away if you notice any other unusual symptoms.
Before using this cream, inform your doctor if you are allergic to miconazole. Tell your doctor if you are taking anticoagulants, immunosuppressants, other antifungal medications, antibiotics, other prescriptions, or over-the-counter medications. Tell your doctor if you have diabetes, hiv, aids, or are undergoing chemotherapy. Talk to your doctor before using this medicine in children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.
