Maxolid syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps cure a wide range of serious infections caused by resistant bacteria may include infections affecting the skin, soft tissues, bones, brain, heart, urinary tract, lungs, and blood. It also aids in the treatment of resistant tubercular infections, and it works by stopping bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.
This medication dose will be given based on your child’s medical condition as prescribed by the doctor. Give this oral syrup to your child with or without food, with a measuring cup, and take it by mouth. Before taking syrup, check the label for directions. Shake it well before every use.
Medication must not be stopped unless told by your doctor. Do not give this medication to your child longer than recommended by the doctor. Do not skip the dose even if you feel better to complete the full course.
The medication’s most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, and low blood cell count. If the symptoms persist or worsen, you need to consult your doctor immediately. Your doctor may help you with other ways to reduce or prevent these side effects. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of intake, repeat the same dose but do not double dose if it’s time for the next dose.
Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if your child has liver & kidney problems and using any other medication.
