Macsoralen lotion is a prescription medicine that belongs to a group of medicines called psoralens. It is used along with controlled ultraviolet light for the effective treatment of certain skin diseases like vitiligo and psoriasis.
Macsoralen lotion is for external use only. Use it only under the direct supervision of your doctor. The affected area should be clean and dry before application. You must wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying this lotion.
This lotion should be used regularly to get the most benefit from it. Please do not use more than you need as it will not clear your condition faster, and some side effects may increase. If your condition goes on for longer than four weeks or gets worse at any time, let your doctor know.
Do not use this lotion if you have a history of melanoma or certain other types of skin cancer. This lotion is not recommended for use in patients suffering from aphakia and with invasive squamous cell carcinoma.
Avoid direct contact with your eyes. In case of direct contact, wash your eyes with water and seek immediate medical help.
The most common side effects of this lotion include burning, irritation, itching and redness at the application site. If these symptoms persist or worsen for a longer duration, immediately consult your doctor.
