Loratin is an antihistaminic agent used to relieve allergic symptoms of rhinitis such as runny nose, sneezing, burning and watery eyes. It is also used to treat allergy symptoms caused by food or other medications and skin allergy. Loratin works by blocking the release of histamine in the body, which is responsible for activating the immune response against an allergen.
Take medicine exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Do not miss the dose even if you feel better. You can take medicine with or without food, but it is recommended to take medicine simultaneously every day. Loratin tablets are rapid-acting medicine, and they have a longer duration of action. You must follow caution as excess consumption leads to serious adverse effects.
Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medicine. Avoid the use of any other allergy medication, cough medication, and sleep-inducing medications while taking loratin.
The most common side effects of loratin include headache, sleepiness, drowsiness, nervousness, fatigue, dry mouth, eye infection, abdominal pain, hyperactivity, and difficulty concentrating. If the side effects persist or worsen, then inform the doctor immediately.
Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant, have liver & kidney problems, and use any other medications.
