KEFPOD CV is a combinational antibacterial agent. it is given to children to treat bacterial infections such as lungs, sinuses, throat. it is also used for otitis media, respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin infections. works by preventing bacterial growth, potassium clavulanate decrease bacterial resistance and increase its activity against bacteria. it is used alone or in combination with other medications. you are advised to give this medicine to your child as prescribed by your doctor. caution must be followed as excess dose leads to serious adverse effects. medication must not be stopped unless told by your doctor.
some common side effects of this medicine are nausea, vomiting, bloody diarrhoea, bruising, shortness of breath, rash, skin peeling, fever, yellowing of the eyes and skin. if the side effects get worsen, consult your doctor immediately. suppose your child experiences any allergic reaction (shortness of breath, puffy face, lips, tongue or throat). in that case, you must seek immediate medical help. you must make the child take adequate rest for a faster recovery, also give a healthy diet.
before giving this medicine to your child, Inform the doctor if your child has any liver & kidney problems and other medications.
