Imalek tablet is an antineoplastic agent. It works by slowing or stopping cancer cell growth. Imalek can also be used to treat immune system problems (such as aggressive systemic mastocytosis, hypereosinophilic syndrome). Take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. You must follow caution as excess consumption leads to serious adverse effects. Do not stop the medication unless told by your doctor.
Alcohol consumption needs to be avoided while on this medication. It may lead to an increased risk of dizziness and drowsiness.

The most common side effects of these medications are decreased haemoglobin, fluid retention, diarrhoea, periorbital oedema, fatigue, nausea, rash, decreased wbc count, musculoskeletal pain, headache, abdominal pain, joint pain, cough, and blurred vision, and decreased weight.

Inform your doctor if you have any liver problems or kidney problems. Your doctor may advise on specific tests before and after the treatment to check for these issues. If you are given this medicine as part of your cancer treatment, your doctor will check whether you weigh more than 40 kg and have not had a stroke within the last three months.
