Heplovir tablet is used to treat a chronic hepatitis-c infection. It works by preventing the increase of the virus in the human body and thus clears up the infection by decreasing the viral load.
Heplovir tablet is always used in combination with other medicines like interferon alfa or peginterferon alfa. Take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Don't miss a dose or discontinue the treatment though you feel better. Take plenty of fluids while taking this medication to prevent dehydration and kidney damage that may occur due to this medicine. Medication must not be stopped unless told by your doctor. Alcohol consumption should be avoided while taking these medications it may lead to severe liver damage.
This medication's most common side effects are headache, muscle pain, fatigue, fever, and rashes. If these symptoms persist or worsen, you need to consult your doctor immediately. Inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, heart, breathing, thyroid or blood disorders, diabetes, vision problems and immunodeficiency disorders or taking didanosine medication.
Males and females must use adequate contraceptive measures for at least 6 months after taking the last dose of heplovir medicine. Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant or a breastfeeding mother. Males must tell their doctor if their partner is pregnant or wants to be pregnant.
