GLIPY MET tablet, is an antidiabetic drug used in the treatment of diabetes to control high blood sugar levels and prevent severe complications of diabetes such as kidney damage and blindness and may also reduce your chances of having a heart attack or stroke.

this tablet is used alone or in combination with other medications. it works by lowering the glucose production in the liver, thereby delaying glucose absorption from the intestine and increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin. inform your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems. pregnant and lactating mothers should also consult the doctor for advice before taking this medicine. you need to inform your doctor if you are on any other medications as it may cause interactions.

the most common side effects of this medication include nausea, vomiting, metallic taste, diarrhoea, dizziness and loss of appetite. if any of the side effects persist or worsen, you need to consult your doctor immediately. you are advised to take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. medications must not be stopped unless told by your doctor. you are supposed to take this medicine with food as directed by your physician. your doctor may advise certain tests before and after the treatment. alcohol consumption needs to be avoided while on this medication.
