GERDRID-L capsule is a prescription medication used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (acid reflux), intestinal ulcers, and irritable bowel syndrome. This capsule reduces excess acid production in the stomach and prevents stomach acid from flowing back into the digestive tract. This capsule is a combination of two medicines: levosulpiride and rabeprazole. levosulpiride is a prokinetic that works by increasing the release of acetylcholine (a chemical messenger). This results increase in the movement of the stomach & intestines and prevents reflux (acid going up to the food pipe). Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (ppi); it works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach, which helps to relieve acid-related indigestion and ulcers. These capsules are taken with or without food in doses and durations according to the doctor's recommendations. The dose you will give will depend on your condition and how you react to the drug. You should take this medicine for as long as your doctor prescribes it. If you stop treatment too soon, your symptoms may return, and your condition may worsen. Tell your health care team about any other medicines you are taking as some of them affect or may be affected by this medicine.

The most common side effects of this medication are nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, gas, constipation, headache, weakness, and flu-like symptoms. Most of them are temporary and usually will be resolved over time. It can also cause dizziness and lightheadedness. Therefore, do not drive or do anything that requires mental alertness until you understand how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it may worsen your drowsiness. Lifestyle changes, such as eating a high-fibre diet, avoiding foods that cause your symptoms, increasing fluid intake, and exercising regularly, can help you get better results.

Before taking it, you should tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease. you should also tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
