FULLCOVER contains two medications, montelukast and fexofenadine. Both medicines work with different mechanisms. Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist class of medication. It works by stopping the action of leukotriene (inflammatory chemical) in the lungs, reducing inflammation and relaxation of smooth muscle. Fexofenadine is an antihistamine class of medication. It acts by stopping the release of histamine that results in allergic signs.
Thus both drugs help treat allergy symptoms like hay fever, asthma, allergic skin conditions, runny nose, nasal congestion and watery eyes. Hay fever is an allergic condition that arises due to seasonal differences with common cold symptoms. Asthma is a condition in which airways become narrow and swell and may develop excess mucus. This medicine provides relief from symptoms such as chest tightness, breathing difficulty, wheezing, and coughing.
This medication's most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, dizziness, headache, body ache, and skin rash. Most of these side effects persist for a shorter duration. If your child experiences them for a more extended period, inform your doctor immediately.
