Foliact is the active form of folic acid. It is used to treat folic acid deficiency and megaloblastic anaemia. It is used as add-on therapy in schizophrenia and major depressive disorders.
It is an essential element, works by improving the production of red blood cells. It is either prescribed alone or in combination with other medications. Do not stop taking this medicine unless told by your doctor.
Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant or breastfeeding.
The most common side effects of this medication are confusion, nausea, breathlessness, taste changes, insomnia, and mood changes. These side effects persist for a shorter duration. If you experience them for a longer duration, inform your doctor.
