Fevimax is an iron supplement used to treat anaemia associated with chronic renal failure, iron deficiency anaemia, vitamin/mineral supplementation and vitamin/mineral supplementation during pregnancy/lactation. Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to be pregnant or have any iron overload disorders, so your doctor will adjust the dose.
The most common side effects of fevimax tablets are constipation, diarrhoea, nausea, stomach upset, stomach/abdominal cramping, and severe allergic reaction, including rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue)/throat), severe dizziness, trouble in breathing are rarely seen. Higher doses may cause preterm birth in some women. Higher doses of iron can cause high levels of haemoglobin in the blood. High haemoglobin levels at the time of delivery are associated with bad pregnancy outcomes.
