ferinject injection is an iron product with hemopoietic action (formation of blood) used in the treatment of iron deficiency anaemia wherein there are few numbers of red blood cells due to the deficiency of iron. it works by replenishing iron in the body as it is a vital substance in forming new red blood cells and haemoglobin in the body. it also helps in carrying oxygen throughout the body.
the dose and dosing frequency is as per your doctor's advice. do not stop taking this medication until and unless your doctor has asked to.
this injection should be given only by a doctor or a nurse; self-administration is strictly not recommended. do not miss any of the scheduled doses, as it can affect the rate of recovery.
the most common side effects of this medication are nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, high blood pressure, dark-coloured stool, and injection site reaction. if these side effects persist, consult your doctor immediately.
