Eptoin tablet is used to treat and prevent epilepsy (seizure). It works by decreasing the nerve impulses which cause seizures. It also helps reduce symptoms such as confusion, uncontrollable, jerking movement, loss of awareness, and fear or anxiety.
This medication dose and duration will be given based on your medical condition as prescribed by the doctor. Take this tablet orally with or without food, but try to have it at a fixed time regularly. Medication must not be stopped unless told by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the entire course of treatment even if you feel better. Do not take this medication longer than recommended by the doctor. Drink plenty of water while taking this medication as it may help to prevent dehydration.
The medication’s most common side effects are skin rashes, headaches, feeling sick, difficulty sleeping and feeling sleepy. If the symptoms persist or worsen, you need to consult your doctor immediately. This medication may increase your blood sugar levels so, regularly monitor your blood sugar levels if you have diabetes. You must follow caution as excess consumption leads to serious adverse effects. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication. This medication may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy so, do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have liver & kidney problems, and use any other medication. Eptoin tablet is unsafe to use in pregnancy.
