Taxim O Dry Syrup is a Cephalosporin-type antibiotic primarily taken to treat various types of bacterial infections of the ears, lungs, and urinary tract. It can also be used in treating uncomplicated typhoid fever in children and adolescents.
It prevents the growth of bacteria by stopping the formation of protective covering which is vital for its growth.
This medicine usually makes you feel better within a few days, but you should continue taking it as prescribed even when you feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat.
It is recommended to complete the course of medicine even if you feel better as it is an antibiotic, and leaving it in between may lead to even severe infection that will in fact stop responding to the antibiotic as well (antibiotic resistance).
