Milmafin Plus 170ml belongs to the group of medicines called laxatives used to treat constipation. Constipation refers to infrequent bowel movements in which the stools are often dry, painful and hard to pass. Symptoms include bloating, abdominal pain, and feeling as if the bowel movement is incomplete.
Milmafin Plus 170ml contains magnesium hydroxide (osmotic laxative) and liquid paraffin (lubricant). Magnesium hydroxide works by drawing water into the intestine through osmosis, while liquid paraffin has lubricant properties that help retain water in the stools. Together, they make the stool soft making it easier to pass.
Do not take Milmafin Plus 170ml for more than a week as it might cause dependency on Milmafin Plus 170ml for a bowel movement. Talk to your doctor if you notice any sudden changes in bowel habits that persist for over two weeks. Consult your doctor before taking Milmafin Plus 170ml if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Milmafin Plus 170ml to be given with caution to children if prescribed by the doctor.
