Metosartan 50 Tablet ER is a medicine used for treating high blood pressure. By lowering blood pressure, it helps in preventing future heart attacks and strokes. Early treatment with this medicine also improves the chances of survival in patients with heart attacks. Metosartan 50 Tablet ER is a combination of two blood-pressure lowering medicines: Telmisartan and Metoprolol Succinate. Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the chemical angiotensin, thereby relaxing blood vessels. Metoprolol Succinate is a beta blocker which works specifically on the heart to reduce heart rate and lower blood pressure. Together they allow the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Metosartan 50 Tablet ER is to be taken with food.
