Description-
Mala D Tablet is a contraceptive pill consumed to avoid unwanted pregnancy. It is an oral pill which is to be followed as per the regimen, for 28 days or as prescribed by a doctor. Quite a few times, it is prescribed in the treatment of irregular periods.
This medication contains two types of tablets, the White tablet, which is a combination of Ethinyl estradiol and Levonorgestrel as active ingredients and the Red tablet is composed of Ferrous Fumarate. It helps to prevent the release of the egg and its fertilization by the sperm.
The Ethinyl estradiol and Levonorgestrel (white) tablet is taken for 21 days followed by the Ferrous fumarate (red) tablets for the next 7 days. It functions by stopping ovulation i.e. stopping ovaries from releasing an egg.
Mala D pills is also known to reduce or stop short term changes of menopause. You must always consult your gynaecologist before consuming the pill as it may have certain side effects like lower abdominal pains, acne, vomiting, allergic reaction, high blood pressure etc.
