Dajio tablet is a sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 inhibitor used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease and heart failure; it will remove the excess blood glucose, sodium and water from the body through urine.
This medication may cause side effects such as urinary tract infectious disease, female genital infection, nasopharyngitis, hypotension, diabetic ketoacidosis, hypoglycemia, hypersensitivity reaction, and acute kidney injury pyelonephritis, sepsis due to urinary tract infection, fournier's gangrene. Inform your doctor if these effects bother or worsen your condition or persist for a longer duration.
Do not stop the medication without informing your doctor. If you stop, your blood sugar levels may get increased and lead to the risk of complications like kidney damage and blindness. Please do not exceed more than the recommended dose as it may lead to toxicity and adverse effects.
Diet and exercise can help your body to use blood sugar better. If you have diabetes, it is important to stay on any diet and exercise recommended by your doctor while taking this medication. Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration and also maintain good hygienic conditions to prevent fungal infections. Inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems.
